“Shawn Flot is a fantastic Physical Therapist. His diagnostic and therapeutic skills are outstanding. He has been a huge help to the patients of mine who have seen him. For many who have suffered for years with chronic pain and injuries, their recovery has been miraculous. He is in all respects a true healer.”
– Robin Miller, MD, MHS, Triune Integrative Medicine
“I have seen many practitioners for my injury over the last five years and none compare to Shawn’s work, nor have they been as successful for me. Shawn’s work is insightful and thorough with an emphasis on the overall health of the body. Through his work my body has a chance to heal and become stronger and now I can resume the active lifestyle I desire.”
– M. Findley
“I am so thankful that I found my way to Shawn when seeking a PT to help me rehab from a broken leg. His work is so subtle and gentle, yet very deep and effective. When I had pain he quickly pinpointed adjustments that I could make in my body and combined that with manual therapy that always provided release and a decrease in pain. The entire process has taken much longer than I had imagined it would, and Shawn’s support and encouragement to allow my body to go at it’s own pace was so appreciated. It’s a bonus that I can now attend his Yoga classes to continue the growth I’ve begun.”
– Lisa J.
“Shawn has helped me on several occasions with regard to different injuries. I was in a motor vehicle accident several years ago and Shawn’s manual/physical therapy was very effective in getting me back on my feet and better able to do my job. In 2012, I suffered an injury to my shoulder and again went to Shawn for treatment and had great results. Shawn’s treatments are effective, target the root cause not the symptom, and are not painful. As a result of seeing Shawn for physical injuries, I learned about his Yoga practice and now attend his classes as often as I can. The Yoga classes are fun, great for my physical and emotional health, and Shawn is diligent in making sure participants are doing the Yoga correctly in order to get the most out of it and to cause no harm.”
– Jean Fleming, RN
“Shawn is an enthusiastic and talented therapist who examines all systems of the body (nervous, digestive, circulatory, respiratory…) in his treatment of musculoskeletal problems. He truly treats the person as a whole – mind/body/spirit – examining both the gross structural body and the more subtle energetic vessel. His focus is not just on “fixing the problem” with manual therapy and exercise, but on education and building health through Yoga and Ayurvedic practices. One session with Shawn gave me the tools to identify regions of tension and energetic block in my body. The result has been a more grounded and energetic Yoga practice, and the ability to relieve discomfort through body awareness and slight postural adjustments.”
– Emily Warren, PT
“I came to Shawn with a very painful and inflamed shoulder that my doctor had diagnosed as Bursitis. I thought of it as a frozen shoulder as I had experienced the very same symptoms on my other (frozen) shoulder 6 years prior. Needless to say I had very little range of motion and was experiencing a high level of pain. After session one I knew I’d found someone special. I began referring to what Shawn does as “magic”. In a short period of time, my pain was almost a “0” and my range of motion 95%. Nothing short of amazing to me. Thank you Shawn!”

“My experience with Shawn Flot has been nothing but positive. He is attentive, conscientious, kind hearted and very understanding. The best part of my interaction with Shawn is that he didn’t just solve the problems I was having with my body but through demonstration and instruction he taught me how I could deal with the problem. What a wonderful gift! This man is indeed an exceptional healer.”
– Dawn M., Ashland
“Shawn commands a profoundly deep knowledge of the body, in both, Western and Eastern Medicine and how it works with mind and spirit. These, coupled with his grounded presence and compassion makes him, in my opinion, the best PT in the area.”
– Lynnea Forderer
“Shawn is a wonderful practitioner, his level of training and knowledge of anatomy and manual therapy are brilliantly complemented by his depth of compassion and yoga experience. He has the ability to build bridges between how physical therapy and energetic healing are connected.”
– Scott Blossom, Shunyata Yoga
“Therapeutics with Shawn is precious. His highly sensitive, attuned hands seem to ‘hear’ the subtle rhythms and layers of the body. With the most gentle touch, he can open blockages, soothe and restore the nervous system, and transfigure pain and trauma in the body. Because he is such an integrated yogi and naturally gifted healer, he offers foundational movement support to empower people that truly want to heal. His love for what he does is rich and apparent. He generously shares wisdom about the complex geography of the human body. I’ve learned so much about true loving- kindness for myself through my sessions with Shawn. I’ve learned how to follow relationship patterns in the body to unwind chronic issues. I walk out of his office feeling grounded, open, supple, and buoyant. I couldn’t recommend him more highly as a multidimensional healer, physical therapist, and Yoga instructor.”
– Harmonee S.
“I have experienced the benefit of Shawn’s work both as a patient of manual therapy and as a Yoga student. Now in my fifth year of practicing Yoga with Shawn, I have gradually come to a much greater level of flexibility. His deep knowledge of anatomy as well as his clear attunement with the energies of the body allows students to develop a deeper state of integration and inner calm. If you want to experience your body change for the better, I highly recommend Shawn!”
– Paul Giancarlo
“Shawn only teaches what truly lives inside of him from his own Yoga practice. This alone is rare these days. His lineage is one of deep, profound wisdom, a tried and true art form, and a way of life. Through teaching Hatha Yoga asana, he also teaches self respect, deep listening, and a firm yet gentle sensitivity – it’s like discovering and developing a 6th sense in feeling and observing oneself. He gives wonderful attention to key, foundational aspects of the practice such as feet, bones, breathe, good space, rhythm, circulating, and cultivating the legs in order to inform and open up the rest of the body. The practice is a moving meditation and a “yoking” to Source. I have tremendous gratitude for Shawn for the transmissions he gives in stepping into true strength, listening to the quiet, deeper layers while practicing, learning to observe experiences and postures with kindness and humility, and for following the body’s natural Intelligence. Om Namah Shivaya.”
– Harmonee S.
“Yoga with Shawn is a great opportunity to practice being attentive to the present moment. In his classes, I find that I am not thinking about the past or future, only the subtleties of the interplay between the physical and energetic components of my experience. His fine-tuned awareness and love of this interplay provides a very healing, opening environment.”
– Robin N.
“Shawn’s extensive knowledge and sensitivity allow him to take note and make minor adjustments with deep impactful change. As a guide, I have not encountered a teacher more present than Shawn. Intuition and understanding meet to harmonize body and soul in this journey of awareness. After trying physical therapy, acupuncture, and rolfing, to rejuvenate and heal my body, I found this practice to be the most effective, permanent healing that I could access. I have grown my confidence and faith that I will return to my healthiest self, finding more strength than I had before my injuries changed my life. Because of Shawn’s extensive knowledge about Hatha Yoga, Physical Therapy, and Healing Touch, there is a wealth of information and support available in this class. I walk out deeply moved, with new qualities to add to my growing repertoire of self-reliant healing and body care. In deep gratitude.”
“In Shawn’s Yoga classes, I can maintain my health without needing physical therapy. As a Yoga instructor, Shawn is amazing. His insightfulness and translation of minor details to complete a pose continues to amaze and inspire me. He has an awareness of everyone in his class and can help guide them in their specific needs. I recommend anyone to Shawn as a physical therapist and/or Yoga instructor!”
– M. Findley
“Shawn’s classes have revolutionized my experience of living in a human body. With his guidance, I’ve discovered from the inside out, how to do simple things like sit, stand and walk with much greater support and ease. What a revelation! The work is both slow and swift. The classes are fun, profound, and meditative. Shawn’s cues are magical. Each week, it seems he leads me to a new ‘Aha!'”
– Dana G.
“Shawn’s two hour workshop series in the Essentials of Hatha Yoga are very unique. There is time to allow each person to explore their way into shapes. Shawn’s verbal cues are incredible to guide and suggest variations in all phases of the practice. His demonstrations are highly effective, and seems each person gleans a subtle impression into aspects and qualities of what we practice.”

“Shawn’s Yoga class is unlike any other. You will learn how the postures or shapes that you assume relate to your physical and mental health. You will learn how to put your weight into your bones and how each part of your body affects your body as a whole. You will learn to recognize how you hold tension and how to release it. You will learn a lot about breathing. As probably the oldest person in the class (70s) I appreciate how my time in Shawn’s class has contributed to strength, balance and fluidity of movement. I enjoy that I am always left with something to think about or pay attention to during the rest of the week. I enjoy learning the principles of Ayurveda as applied to the body and mostly I enjoy that I always walk out of class feeling refreshed, aligned and reset. He is a superb teacher. He is an ongoing student himself and has a clear vision of what he wants to impart to his students. He is patient and attentive. He obviously enjoys his work and appreciates his students. As a class we appreciate Shawn and appreciate each other for our efforts and intention to live with good health and ease of being. Class with Shawn is stimulating and enjoyable. Try it out!”
– Ann S.
“I always leave the class feeling rejuvenated both physically and mentally. Shawn’s approach is enthusiastic in spirit and detailed in delivery. He discusses the basic concepts that are present in all the Yoga poses that we do. For example, many postures may at first look unrelated, but Shawn will explain how the legs work similarly in all of them. Shawn encourages you to progress at your own rate, and is always positive about the advancements he spots in his students. I like his fundamentals approach. It ties the material together as a whole, and it helps when applying this learning to activities outside of class, such as walking, ice skating, or yard and house work. I’m looking forward to continuing with Shawn’s class in the future.”
– E. Zobel
“I have experienced more with Prana in the last 6 weeks with you, than I have in my 20 plus years of being with other Yoga teachers. You remind me a great deal of my time with Rod Stryker.”
– Bob M.
“Shawn has offered the finest imaginable Yoga instruction and Physical Therapy for many years. I love working with him as he continually updates his understanding and passes on new learnings. I have gone from frequent falling and progressed to not falling at all as a result of his balanced training. My senior years are way more enjoyable as a result of continued participation in his workshops and my regular home practice.”
– Diane W.
“Shawn’s insights into the anatomical and subtle/energy body are remarkable. I have found Shawn to be a tremendous resource for my own structural understanding of the body in Yoga.”
– Tias Little, Prajna Yoga
