YES!!! our feet have the same capacity and movement potential as our hands?
From a neurological view, the homunculus of the somatosensory cortex, the motor and sensory fields in our brains illustrate this occupancy of function for the feet and hands. By this understanding the capacity we have to use our feet for sensation and functional activities is similar to the use of the hands. Most important is the sensation capacity, this being the functional aspect of how we interact with the earth and utilize their capacity to bring balance to the body. Thus the importance for everyone to find their feet and develop a connection to the most important part of our foundation. The power in the use of the feet as seen in the video above comes from the flow of consciousness and therefore the vital force, Prana, to circulate and deliver the power that the feet and legs deserve.
What is not seen or measured is the ability to sense the bones, their alignment, and integral part in our “core” stability. It is this sensibility with the bones that allows all the other tissues including tendons and muscle to respond to the balance of the bones. Developing a sensitivity to the bones requires a advanced attention because the bones whisper and often their message gets drowned out by the message from the muscle.
I often associate the muscle with the mini-me, and the bones with the deep inner wisdom, or sage, that carries the innate intelligence of harmony in the body.
